I have had extensive experience with 3D plant design software and in this blog I want to express my opinion on each software that I have used.
In this blog I would like to introduce NozzlePro software. Although, nozzle stress analysis is more on mechanical engineering side, nozzle flexibility is very often needed for pipe stress calculation. NozzlePro will not only calculate nozzle stress but it will calculate also nozzle flexibility that can be inserted into piping stress software Caesar II. Bellow is screenshot of nozzle flexibility for the 4″ pipe and 90″ vessel diameter.
In this blog I will discuss survey, and different tools and software for creating images of existing plant. Normally, engineering companies hire contractors to do survey work, and deliver topographic surface in Civil 3D which is imported into 3D model. Sometimes, contractor will submit 2D drawings in AutoCAD showing all survey point. Please see the figure below.
