In mineral processing industry pipe routing and design is different from petrochemical piping. Temperature range is small, but pipes are larger and transporting medium is slurry or paste. Slurry transportation is big and complex subject and all aspects of slurry transportation cannot be presented in just one blog.
The manufacture’s outline will show suggested nozzle location. The piping designer should be aware that nozzle location and arrangement can be changed to suit piping design.
In this blog I will review underground gravity pipes – oily water, potentially oily water and storm water. Please do not get confused with terminology since other plants might have other terms for the same services. For example some plants will use term contaminated rainwater sewer for potentially oily water.
