Nozzle loads

For mechanical equipment, nozzle stress are limited as per following code:
Normally, pressure vessels nozzle stress is calculated as per WRC code. Equipment nozzle should be modeled as anchor with initial thermal movements. If calculated reaction loads exceed allowable values for the nozzles, the nozzles shall be modeled as flexible nozzles. If you use Caesar II, vessels or towers can be modeled as a pipe with large diameter. A Good tutorial on this subject can be found on the site What is piping. Pipe-engineering site has also a good presentation of equipment nozzle load. Pump nozzle is modeled as anchor considering thermal movement.
